VR Will Transform the Way We Experience these 6 Things

first_imgVirtual reality (VR) is a new means of audiovisual communication. Its mission is to sell the idea of entry into a three-dimensional computer generated environment where the experience is so surprising that it cuts our minds to believe that this virtual world is really Reality. Its ultimate goal is to allow us to experience the senses we could never experience in our daily lives. VR will transform our world as a result of this ability to deliver experiences. So far, our experience with the internet was at best two-dimensional. The possibility of touch sensitive screen was the nearest we have been in interacting with the internet, and virtual reality is about to transform that concept. VR will transform the world and bring about a monumental change in the way of buying and experiencing the web, scanning; thanks to the pure power and imagination of human thought. It will drastically transform the way we live, communicate, learn and relate with others all over the globe. With massive adoption through platforms such as, HTC Vive, Oculus, VR Play station and Cardboard, companies and customers have already begun to turn to augmented reality and virtual platforms as they come online. Projected revenues are reaching over $100 billion in 2020 for AR and VR platforms, these platforms will create dramatic upheaval in all industries around the world. It is clear that our way of life and the way we behave are willing to change dramatically. And while there may be dozens of ways in which VR will transform the world, there are certain basic things that it will have the most effect on.See Also: Facebook slashes price of Oculus Rift for second time1. GamingThe obvious use of virtual reality – and the most proven example is the game. Oculus already has many titles that support it, and Sony PlayStation already has many games that use it.Is unlikely to be supported by all parties at any time, but we’ve played with Morpheus and Oculus and the VR will provide a strong, spectacular and impressive experience that brings gaming to a new level of excellence.2. Watching MoviesSomething that has contained this spacious miracle is the possibility of films that take advantage of VR capabilities.Think of 3D movies and then think of the real, true 3D – a cinematic world which you can sight edges and angles in 3D reality and paying more attention to what you choose to watch.Actually it is theoretical at best, but the probability is there. And it could transform the movie industry forever.3. TourismThink about how compelling it can be to simply look at the world on Google Maps. Then think how shocking it would be to do the same with your eye, a kind of crazy right? The VR will transform long trips to museums for people who cannot enter the building. Also, in another example of visiting a space, real estate agents can give buyers a peek at a property. Real estate agents could line up a playlist of properties for the buyer to experience and explore. In a similar way, a tour guide could do line-up touristic experiences as a product,4. MedicineIt is better and safer for surgeons to train to hone their techniques in a simulated environment. But, it would be better for young surgeons to train on not just plastic models or people who have left their bodies to medical sciences. Therefore, a fully interactive and accurate modeled sample suffers from a variety of diseases requiring surgery through a virtual reality interface could make many surgeons with better training and better performance – which is better for all of us.Simulator Surgeon developed in 2013 was a language in games based on this condition.Pilots already learn using flight simulators, but as surgeons they really could do something much more exciting and realistic to improve their skills. VR can be this technology.5. Exploring SpaceThe ability to fly through the globe using Google maps interface would be interesting and fun.The agency in charge of space exploration could put cameras around their equipment and sends off. Scientists then could navigate and visualize space using a virtual reality device. This would allow the exploration of space in a way that we have not seen before.Maybe you may have heard of Valkyrie – where you take the role of a spaceship pilot – and that seems real, although we knew it was not.6. Digital MarketingAn exciting way in which virtual reality is set to change the world is by the advancement of digital marketing. While physical marketing is limited by the laws of nature, experiences in the Virtual world are not.For example, if you are looking to navigate to a Harvard University campus, you will be able to do so, travelling classrooms, walking among students. You may be promoting a concert and want to place visitors there in the midst of this experience in a virtual reality environment.Companies like YouVisit explore experiential marketing for everyday businesses by offering an easy to use platform for building VR experiences. Not only is it useful for businesses, but also for consumers. Consumers now can make decisions based on virtual experiences the same way they would with physical ones. Not only is it ideal for hotels and travel, but much more for any other experiential marketing.See Also: What brands need to know about VR and AR [Infographic]These 6 categories are a brief introduction into all of the ways VR will transform the experiences around everyday activities. But, even with these new experiences brought by VR, it will still require VR delivering experiences that are otherwise not even remotely possible and further exploration of experiences similar to those mentioned for it to reach its full potential. 13 Fusion Tutorials Every Motion Designer Should Watch

first_img12. Normals Passes in After Effects and FusionCreated by: Kert GartnerWhen it comes to compositing, you want more than one pass of each 3D object. For example, you might have a depth pass, a color pass, a specular pass, etc. This gives you further control when you jump into your compositing software like After Effects or Fusion. In this video tutorial, we’ll look at how to work with multi-pass renders in both Fusion and After Effects. If you want to learn Fusion from scratch, the best resource I can recommend right now is Digital Tutors. While it does cost money to subscribe, they currently have nine different courses that cover the basics of Fusion. If you do decide to go this route, I recommend checking out the Artist’s Guide to Fusion course first. I went from knowing absolutely nothing about nodes to exporting finished video in less than an hour after using this course.Know of any other awesome Blackmagic Fusion tutorials? Share in the comments below! New to Blackmagic Fusion? Get inspired and level up your skills with these must-watch Fusion tutorials. With the recent release of the Fusion 8 beta, PC and Mac users alike can now use Fusion to create amazing VFX sequences. However, if you’re used to working with a layer-based software like After Effects, it can be incredibly daunting to try to figure out how to use a node-based software. That’s why we’ve created this list of must-watch Fusion tutorials for beginners. It’s a little strange at first, but once you get it down, Fusion can be a fantastic tool for compositing. Let’s begin!1-9. Fusion QuickStart GuideCreated By: eyeonsoftwareIf you’re looking to learn the basics of eyeon Fusion from the people that created it, I highly recommend checking out this QuickStart series from eyeon Blackmagic Fusion. The series covers everything you need to know to get started. The tutorials covered include the following topics in this order:The InterfaceConnecting ToolsLoading and SavingAnimatingTools IntroductionTools OverviewBasic 3DBasic ParticlesInstancing ToolsAfter you watch the first video, the player below will automatically skip to the next video. You can also navigate to a different video by selecting the menu icon in the top left of the player window. 11. Mocha to Blackmagic FusionCreated By: Imagineer SystemsDid you know that you can track footage in mocha and copy that tracking data into Fusion? In this video tutorial from VFX artist Steve Benjamin of Muse FX, we take a look at what a motion tracking workflow looks like in mocha and Fusion.center_img 10. Node-Based Compositing Tutorial with FusionCreated by: Kert GartnerIn this tutorial from Kert Gartner, we take a look at the cinematic potential of Fusion. In the video, Gartner breaks down how he created a cool sci-fi shot using some pretty basic green screen footage. If you’re new to Fusion, the first thing you’ll probably notice is the collection of squares with lines connecting them at the bottom. That is actually called a node tree and it’s made up of effects and files. Think of it as a layered timeline, but instead of being stacked on top of each other, layers can be placed anywhere. 13. Volume Mask ToolCreated by: Jeff KrebsAs you’ve probably already found out, Blackmagic Fusion is for serious VFX artists and compositors. In this tutorial from Jeff Krebs, we take a look at how to use a Volume Mask to isolate certain portions of your scene. In order to do this, you’ll need to export a world position pass in your 3D application.last_img read more

Tiger Pataudi- the born leader

first_imgM.A.K. Pataudi, who passed away on Thursday in Delhi, was a born leader – someone who defied the odds to emerge as one of India’s most successful captains. After 12 captains in a decade and half, there was a crying need for a stable, unbiased, charismatic captain in the 1960s. It is at this stage that Pataudi made his entry on the national scene. With the seniors unwilling to take on the responsibility, a 21-year-old Tiger, just three Tests old, suddenly found himself installed as the team’s skipper in March 1962.Though few knew it then, a new era in Indian cricket had begun – the Pataudi era.Even with his visual impairment, he showed the foresight of a champion. After becoming the youngest captain in the world, he made some bold moves that went on to define his leadership. In a first in world cricket at that time, it was Pataudi who had the guts to employ the spin quartet.Against conventional thinking, as had become customary with him, Pataudi regularly used three spinners against the opposition, realising India’s only chance lay in playing to their strengths. The Nawab of Indian cricket led India in 40 off the 46 Tests he played between 1961 & 71, leading India to nine famous victories to make him India’s most successful leader for a long time to come.Fittingly, it was under his captaincy that India clinched their first Test series win on foreign soil, when they defeated New Zealand 3-1 in 1967-68.Sixties was the decade when Indian cricket started becoming a force to reckon with. Be it the formation of the famous spin-quartet or the ushering in of a vast improvement in the fielding or the forging of a winning spirit in a disarrayed team, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi was at the head of them all.advertisementHe was called Tiger not for nothing. It wasn’t just a name, it was an attitude.last_img read more
