About the authorFreddie TaylorShare the loveHave your say Argentina boss Scanoli reveals Aguero not involved in full Man City trainingby Freddie Taylor11 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveArgentina boss Lionel Scaloni has claimed that Sergio Aguero often sits out of full training at Manchester City.Aguero has been involved in most of City’s games this season, managing eight goals in as many games this term. But he is carrying an injury, according to his international boss.Scaloni spoke about Aguero and said to reporters: “Sergio Aguero is not here because he’s been carrying a problem and has not been training 100 per cent with his club.”It is unclear what injury is troubling Aguero and whether he will be fit for his club’s next Premier League game after the international break. The 31-year-old is still one of the key players at the Etihad Stadium club, and will be needed if City are to catch up on the eight point deficit to Liverpool in the Premier League table.
ESPN’s top college football analyst has shared his thoughts on the AP preseason top 25.Kirk Herbstreit appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter this morning to discuss the release of the AP preseason top 25 poll, which you can see here. Here are Herbstreit’s thoughts on the poll:He’s not really surprised with the top five.“I think the one thing that stands out right away is that of the four teams that made the playoff, three are right back up there in the Top 3. I think it tells you a lot of times you’re voting by what happened last season and you’re trying to guess. Keep in mind we haven’t seen any of these teams yet and we’re speculating.”Ohio State at No. 6 might “raise some eyebrows.”“You’re trying to put together a team that can be competitive without knowing anything really. There’s nothing really shocking to me with the Top 5, but Ohio State up at 6 might raise so eyebrows for a lot people because of the losses.”There is parity.“This will be one of those years where there’s a lot of parity and it’ll come down to who’s healthy and who makes the most of their personnel. I don’t think the committee has it in them after 15 weeks of football to vote two teams from one conference. Even if they think they’re in the top four, I don’t see them ever doing that. They’ll be worried about feedback. This might be a year that it might be a valid point, but I don’t think he committee will ever put two teams from one conference in.”A College Football Playoff crasher? Houston. Or Boise State“Houston’s a pick that everybody seems to want to talk about because of last year and I understand that.Greg Ward and that offense is going to score. But if I’m looking at all these teams in (the Group of 5), I’d go with Boise State. They’ll be favored in most of their games after Washington State. Boise State can potentially ruffle some feathers if they beat the Cougs in Week 2.”Who are you picking to win it all this year?
GUELPH, Ont. – Linamar Corp. stock jumped nearly 12 per cent, following its agreement to buy Winnipeg-based agriculture equipment maker MacDon Industries Ltd. for $1.2 billion.Linamar (TSX:LNR) stock rose 11.50 per cent or $7.48 to close at $72.50 Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It’s Linamar’s best day on the market since Nov. 7, when it reported a drop in third-quarter earnings compared with a year ago and missed analyst estimates. The MacDon deal will allow Linamar to further diversify its operations, which make precision metallic parts for a range of sectors including automobiles.Linamar says the acquisition will also complement its existing agricultural harvesting business in Hungary.CIBC analyst Todd Coupland says that agricultural equipment businesses generally trade at higher valuations than auto parts suppliers.CIBC also estimates MacDon will add about 70 cents per share of earnings to its 2018 estimate for Linamar. The company has 59 manufacturing facilities globally and about 24,500 employees.
New Delhi/Bhopal: The Income-Tax Department raids against close aides of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and others continued Monday with search teams making seizures of documents and cash, officials said. Officials said the searches, on charges of alleged tax evasion and hawala transactions during the ongoing poll season, are continuing at various premises in Bhopal, Indore and in Delhi and national capital region as tax sleuths are gathering details and evidences. Also Read – India gets first tranche of Swiss bank a/c details While there is no official word on the exact amount of cash seized, sources said over Rs 10 crore suspected cash has been seized till now. At least half-a-dozen people, linked to alleged hawala dealer Paras Mal Lodha, are being questioned by the department. The department had launched pre-dawn raids at 52 locations on Sunday on people and associates linked to Nath. Sources had told PTI that there is a “strong possibility” of the cash recovered during the operation being used as an election inducement to fund political campaigns and bribe voters in the poll-bound state and in Delhi. Also Read – Tourists to be allowed in J&K from Thursday A preliminary report of the raids was also shared by the department with the Central Board of Direct Taxes and the Election Commission in Delhi. A cash van with large-sized trunks has been sent by the department at a location in Bhopal to seize and collect the cash found during the raids, they said. Those searched included Nath’s former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Pravin Kakkar, former adviser Rajendra Miglani, Ashwani Sharma and executives linked to his brother-in-law’s firm Moser Bayer and his nephew Ratul Puri’s company. Nath had reacted late Sunday to the development. “The situation about the I-T raids is not clear yet. It would be appropriate to speak on this after the situation is clear. But the entire country knows how the constitutional institutions were used and against whom they were used during the past five years,” he had said. “These institutions were used to scare people. When they do not have anything to say on development and their work, they used this kind of tactics against their opponents,” the CM’s statement had said.

Senior wide receiver Devin Smith (9) attempts to escape a tackle from Michigan State redshirt-sophomore linebacker Riley Bullough (30) during a Nov. 8 game in East Lansing, Mich. OSU won, 49-37. Credit: Mark Batke / Photo editorJust seconds after Michigan State missed a 39-yard field goal, Ohio State took over possession and wide receiver Michael Thomas was sure of one thing. He was going to be in the end zone.“Before the play came I knew I was going to score,” the redshirt-sophomore Thomas said. “I just had to do my job, run my route. I feel like no one can guard me.”Thomas caught a slant from redshirt-freshman J.T. Barrett and took the pass 79 yards to the end zone, tying the game at 21.The Buckeyes didn’t trail for the remainder of the game.Just minutes later, Barrett found senior wide receiver Devin Smith for a 44-yard touchdown, giving the Buckeyes a 28-21 halftime score.Barrett, who had seemed to struggle on deep throws for a portion of the season, said after the game that he is getting more confidence in his deep shots as the season progresses.“I’m getting more comfortable each and every week,” he said. “We just make sure we’re getting that connection in practice so we can bring it out on gameday.”Barrett’s performance earned praise from Michigan State’s defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, who said he was slightly surprised at how well the redshirt-freshman played.“That guy made about every pass he could. He hadn’t shown to do that really consistently, but we had a lot of respect for him. He is a great football player,” Narduzzi said after the game. “He played big in a big game. He didn’t throw off the mark at all and those guys were ready to make the catch. That goes to having a guy who throws the ball where it needs to be thrown. He is a heck of a quarterback.”OSU coach Urban Meyer tied Barrett’s performance in with Smith’s, complimenting both on their breakout games.“JT, boy, is he playing well. He was 16-of-26, 300 yards throwing and very accurate on the deep balls,” Meyer said. “Also Devin Smith, that’s his best game that we’ve had in the past three years. He’s one of the best, if not the best, deep ball players we’ve ever had. He tracks the ball very well.”Smith has had a knack for making big plays in scarlet and gray, as the Buckeyes are a perfect 20-0 when he catches a touchdown for OSU. The senior from Massillon, Ohio, finished the game with a season-high 129 yards receiving on six receptions to go along with the touchdown.Prior to his touchdown catch, Smith made what was arguably the biggest play of the game as he hauled in a 43-yard reception from Barrett up the Spartan sideline with OSU facing a third and 23, trailing, 14-7.Smith had a similar response to Thomas’ about the third-down pickup.“No disrespect to their team, but I felt all night they couldn’t hang with us. I told coach that constantly,” Smith said. “I told coach they needed to keep throwing it to us, and we had a good first half throwing the ball.”With his big game, Smith separated himself from former OSU-great Santonio Holmes on the Buckeyes’ all-time touchdown receptions list. Smith moved into sole possession of third place on the list with his 26th as a member of the Scarlet and Gray.Smith said following the game that his motivation to play well came from many people picking the Spartans to win, along with Michigan State’s nicknamed secondary.“Coming into this game, everybody had us losing and it kind of made me a little mad,” Smith said. “Then the whole ‘no fly zone’ stuff and all that. We had one job, and that was to come up here and win.”The combination of Smith and Thomas accounted for 220 of Barrett’s 300 passing yards, something Thomas said came from preparation and motivation.“It’s like a tag-team. That’s what we are trained to do,” Thomas said of his play alongside Smith’s. “We lost a lot of respect. And the only way to get back respect in this league, the Big Ten, is to step up and win this game.”With the win, the Buckeyes sit alone atop the Big Ten East standings, as they are set to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday in Minneapolis. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
The German national men’s football team have begun life after an embarrassing outing at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia with a draw against France, according to DFB.de.The Die Mannschaft held the current world champions to a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena in Germany. After much debate, Joachim Low decided to stick with majority of the team that underperformed in Russia with Manuel Neuer started between the sticks for Germany, behind a back four of Matthias Ginter, Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Antonio Rüdiger. Joshua Kimmich started at defensive midfield with Leon Goretzka and Toni Kroos in front of him.Thomas Müller, Timo Werner and Marco Reus completed the starting XI as a front three. The German side started with purpose and soon got on the front foot, albeit without creating a clear-cut chance. For the majority of the half, the teams were in deadlock and headed into the changing rooms for half time with no more than a couple of shots on target to reflect on.Top 5 Bundesliga players to watch during the weekend Tomás Pavel Ibarra Meda – September 11, 2019 With the international activity cooling down for the next month, we go back to the Bundesliga’s Top 5 players to watch next weekend. The German…Low’s team continued to try to carve out opportunities in the wider areas but they couldn’t open up the French defence with the crucial final pass. In the 34th minute, for example, Rüdiger nearly got on the end of a dangerous cross from Kroos before Olivier Giroud tested Manuel Neuer with a header at the other end. The captain then parried a Kylian Mbappé free-kick from 20 metres out in the 43rd minute. The last chance of the first half fell to the world champions as a heel flick from Giroud went wide of the goal.Didier Deschamps’ French team started the second half as the better side as an Antoine Griezmann shot was saved by Neuer (48’). Timo Werner then tested Areola’s reflexes in the French goal from an acute angle (57’). Neither team could create many clear opportunities in front of goal with much of the game being contested in midfield. The next chance also fell to Griezmann, who attempted a shot from long distance (64’). At the other end, Areola spectacularly denied Reus with a fingertip save around the post (65’).A lack of cutting edge from both sides saw their first competitive meeting since 2016 end in a goalless stalemate.
The Everton Marco Silva was unhappy after receiving a goal and then seeing how Kurt Zouma was sent off.A single goal by Andre Gay gave Watford the 1-0 victory over Everton in the English Premier League on Saturday. And the Blues are now in the ninth position of the table with 33 points, after only nine wins, six draws and 12 defeats. This has led coach Marco Silva very frustrated.“When you do not achieve the result and do not score goals with the chances we created, it is a big frustration for us,” Silva told the club’s official website.“The first half was balanced, they created one good chance and we had a very good chance with Cenk Tosun.”“Second half was the same again. They started to create more problems with their long balls,” he commented.“I felt Andre Gomes and Gana were getting tired after we played on Wednesday night. Watford had one week to prepare for the game.”“I changed Andre and was preparing to put on Bernard when they scored,” Silva continued.“We reacted [to going behind].”Liverpool legend Nicol slams Harry Maguire’s Man United form Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Steve Nicol believes Harry Maguire has made some “horrendous mistakes” recently, and has failed to find his best form since joining Manchester United.“We had two balls off the bar and one clear chance for Dominic,” the manager said.“We created enough chances to score but were not effective [with our finishing]. Sometimes in these moments, something can happen – but it is only us who can work more to change things.”“When you play away and create the chances we did – and clear chances in some moments – we have to be more effective,” the Everton boss commented.“In one moment they will start to go in and we’ll start to win matches.”“But there is just one way: work more, become more confident and look forward and try to change things,” he added.“It is a good moment to rest the players, then bring them back to prepare for the next match against Cardiff and the derby against Liverpool.”💬 | The boss delivers his post-match verdict: A frustrating afternoon. #EFCawayday— Everton (@Everton) February 9, 2019

Abigail PandeInstagramTelevision actress Abigail Pande, who is a yoga enthusiast, recently took social media by storm when she shared a topless picture of practising yoga. Promoting nude yoga, Abigail performed back namaskar, while showing off her back to the camera. While she received immense support from her fans, haters trolled her for going topless. Commenting on the mixed reactions she received, Abigail, currently shooting for episodic horror series, Lal Ishq, said that while Kareena Kapoor Khan was spared for going backless in Kurbaan, people made a fuss about her picture.”While no one made a fuss about Kareena Kapoor’s backless Kurbaan scene, I was called names for doing the same, as I was practising yoga. Having said this, I did get good support for my above views as well,” she said.As part of her yoga practises, Abigail follows a well-known nude yoga practitioner (nude_yogagirl on Instagram), who often gets trolled for her bare pictures. Defending her form of yoga practice, the actress said, “Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying walk naked. My point was that rather than appreciating her and her art, you just look at it from only one angle.””Secondly, I don’t get the term vulgar which she was called. This itself is so loaded and wrong. Do we call nude works in Ajanta and Ellora as vulgar? Beauty is never vulgar when presented aesthetically. She really works hard to make her work look classy and not cheap. Her agenda is never arousal but to show yoga in its most natural form.”However, Abigail made it clear that she is just supporting the nude yoga practitioner. “I am just supporting the @nude_yogagirl. Personally, I’d rather do Hot yoga, Ashtanga yoga, and Hath yoga.”Further, talking about how yoga is not just a means of exercise to lose weight but has helped her deal with medical problems, Abigail said: “I have been following this traditional Indian form of exercise for the past four years. I first started taking it as a kind of workout as a means to lose weight and get a better-toned body. But later, I realized that it has started helping me deal with medical problems i.e lower back weakness and PCOD as well. Also, I was a very distracted person, with my mind running around with 50 things at the same time. Yoga has kind of calmed me down and lets me stay in the moment.”

Our biggest election ever was the last presidential. So, we are running well above that,” John Oldham, Fort Bend’s Elections Administrator, says. He added that they have received few complaints about the process. 00:00 /02:05
Share FBIA sketch of the Golden State Killer, an individual associated with a spree of rapes and killings between 1976 and 1986. On Tuesday, police arrested Joseph James DeAngelo and named him as the suspect.A day after authorities announced the arrest of the suspected Golden State Killer, a few details have come into focus.A can of dog repellant and a hammer from a suburban Sacramento Pay N’ Save: the things that Joseph James DeAngelo shoplifted in 1979, costing him his job as a police officer in Auburn, Calif. The coins and small items that the man then called the East Area Rapist would take during his attacks. The as-yet-unidentified item discarded by DeAngelo that had a sample of his DNA on it — enough to provide the evidence leading to his arrest. The FBI posters seeking information about a white man with blond or light brown hair and an athletic build, sketched many decades ago — now with “Captured” emblazoned in red.The 72-year-old from Citrus Heights, Calif., has now been charged with eight murders in three California counties. Police suspect he committed at least four other murders and about 50 rapes. The crimes terrorized Sacramento in the late 1970s, FBI case agent Marcus Knutson said in a 2016 video.“If you lived in Sacramento during that time frame, you have a story of what happened and where you were and what was going on,” Knutson said. “Everybody knows about East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer here in Sacramento. During that time frame, everybody was in fear. We had people sleeping with shotguns. We had people purchasing dogs. I think locksmiths’ business went way out of control because of the fact that everyone was changing locks on their doors.”So, who is Joseph DeAngelo? According to The Sacramento Bee:DeAngelo was born in New York state and graduated from high school east of Sacramento. He enlisted in the Navy and fought in Vietnam, then returned and got a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. From 1973 to 1976, he worked as a police officer in Exeter, Calif., close to the city of Visalia, which in 1974 and 1975 was terrorized by 85 burglaries and a murder, a series of crimes attributed to a perpetrator known as the Visalia Ransacker. In 1976, DeAngelo became a police officer in Auburn, Calif., until his termination for shoplifting. He married in 1973, later divorced, and was living with a daughter and granddaughter until he was arrested this week.Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office/APJoseph James DeAngelo, 72, was arrested this week.“The time frame of the crimes supports that the suspect was a police officer when he committed some of these crimes,” said Sean Ragan, special agent in charge of the FBI Sacramento office, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Bee compiled a long list of the crimes associated with the Golden State Killer — or as he was previously known, the East Area Rapist or the Original Night Stalker. The majority of the rapes occurred in the years while DeAngelo was a police officer, but from the December 1979 to May 1986, 10 people in California were killed in murders later tied to the East Area Rapist. In 2011, the Times reported that new DNA technology had allowed authorities to connect the spree of rapes Northern California with the killings in Southern California. The search for Golden State Killer picked up renewed intensity in 2016, when Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert helped create a task force to find him. The FBI offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.“If he is still alive, the killer would now be approximately 60 to 75 years old,” the FBI said at the time. “He is described as a white male, close to six feet tall, with blond or light brown hair and an athletic build. He may have an interest or training in military or law enforcement techniques, and he was proficient with firearms.”Writer Michelle McNamara became obsessed with the case, and she started the True Crime Diary website. Earlier this year, McNamara’s posthumously published book on her search for the killer, I’ll Be Gone In The Dark, became a bestseller. It’s slated to be turned into an HBO docuseries.Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones said they used DNA evidence from a discarded item to link DeAngelo with samples the killer had left behind years ago.Schubert said there was a break in the case six days ago, but authorities haven’t yet revealed how they came to suspect the former police officer, who retired last year after 27 years working in a supermarket distribution warehouse. A man who worked with him for years told the Bee that the DeAngelo was “a regular joe” — except that he never smiled.Neighbors told the Bee differing accounts of whether DeAngelo seemed normal, but many mentioned he had a very short temper. His recent criminal record shows nothing major, according to the Times.Police waited outside DeAngelo’s house for days, monitoring the retiree’s movements, The Associated Press reports. Authorities finally moved in and arrested him without incident at his home in the Sacramento suburb of Citrus Heights.DeAngelo told the officers that he had a roast in the oven, and they told him they’d take care of it.Copyright 2018 NPR. © 2015 Phys.org Rarely-seen whale washes up on Massachusetts beach Modern Ziphiidae dive down to great depths to find prey such as fish and squid—their dolphin-like snouts and teeth allow them to capture prey and eat it, a marked difference from other whales that suck in huge amounts of water and filter the small creatures in it as their means of sustenance. The fossil that was found, the group claims, is the first known example of a ziphiid eating fish near the surface. The researchers believe the whale captured and consumed a large number of sardine-like fish, then a very short time later, died, possibly due to also ingesting a toxin of some sort, fell to the ocean floor and was entombed—but not before disgorging some of the contents of its belly. The fossil was found embedded in rock with multiple small fish inside of its body and in the immediate area surrounding it. Dating of material in the rock placed the age of the whale and surrounding fish to approximately nine to ten million years ago, placing them in the Late Miocene. The fossils were all in remarkably good shape—the team could make out scales on the fish, which is why they believe that they had not had much time to be digested before the whale that ate them died. More importantly, the fish were not deep sea dwellers, which indicated that the whale hunted near the surface at least part of the time. The number of fish, 40 to 60 of them, and their average size of 39 centimeters, the team notes, is in line with a bellyful of fish caught by the whales’ modern cousins. They note also that dolphins moved into the area not much later, displacing the whales, forcing them to seek food in deeper waters. Credit: Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Published 9 September 2015.DOI: 10.1098/rspb.2015.1530 (Phys.org)—A team of researchers from several institutions in Europe and Peru has found evidence of an ancient ziphiid (toothed beaked whale) that unlike its modern ancestors, hunted near the surface of the sea. In their paper published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, the group describes their study of the whale fossil found in a dolomite concretion beneath the sea bed off the coast of Peru last year. We report on a ziphiid–fish assemblage from the Late Miocene of Peru that we interpret as the first direct evidence of a predator–prey relationship between a ziphiid and epipelagic fish. Preserved in a dolomite concretion, a skeleton of the stem ziphiid Messapicetus gregarius was discovered together with numerous skeletons of a clupeiform fish closely related to the epipelagic extant Pacific sardine (Sardinops sagax). Based on the position of fish individuals along the head and chest regions of the ziphiid, the lack of digestion marks on fish remains and the homogeneous size of individuals, we propose that this assemblage results from the death of the whale (possibly via toxin poisoning) shortly after the capture of prey from a single school. Together with morphological data and the frequent discovery of fossil crown ziphiids in deep-sea deposits, this exceptional record supports the hypothesis that only more derived ziphiids were regular deep divers and that the extinction of epipelagic forms may coincide with the radiation of true dolphins.
