Hilton in the Community Foundation grants £10k to six Glasgow charities

first_img Six Glasgow charities have received a share of £10,000 from Hilton in the Community Foundation. The grants were announced at the Hilton Glasgow.The Foundation received applications from over 30 charities from across Glasgow, and the organisations selected were HopScotch Children’s Charity, Music in Hospitals, West Scotland Deaf Children’s Society, Ups and Downs Theatre, Wyndford Nursery School, and Action for Children.HopScotch Children’s Charity, a charity that provides free holidays to disadvantaged children will use the money to provide 12 vulnerable children from the Gorbals with a five day respite break at the Ardvullin Centre in Ardgour in the West Highlands.West Scotland Deaf Children’s Society will use the funds to provide Christmas outings to pantomimes for the children and young people over the festive period. They will also use the grant to lay on a winter party for the younger children and help fund their three Outreach Support Groups over the next 12 months.How to apply for grantsDeadlines for grant applications run quarterly, and the next one will close in January 2015. The central grants application process covers the whole of the UK.The £10,000 giveaways take place regionally a few times a year. The Foundation works on these with its supporting hotels: details on the next one are not yet available.
